This little guide apply to people using Windows Mobile to check their email account hosted by a Microsoft Exchange server. At this point I assume that you were able to configure the basic settings to setup your email client with your email gateway.
By default, the Windows Mobile client is not synchronizing all the subdirectories of your inbox. To enable this parameter, follow the following steps:
- Navigate to your inbox on your Windows Mobile device
- At the bottom right corner of your screen, click on Menu > Tools > Manage Folders…
- Expand your inbox and select what you want to add
The next time you’ll fire a sync, all the folders will be update. Note that by default ActiveSync only download messages from the last 3 days. If you want to make it load all your messages, you’ll have to follow this:
- Launch AcitveSync and go throug Menu > Options
- Select E-mail and hit the Settings… at the bottom right corner of your screen
- Select how deep in the past you want to go
This was successfully tested on a HTC running Windows Mobile 6.
